Ko 5-for-5 Against Ottawa
Sunday, June 8th, 2025
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book. The latest honoree is Jung-tae Ko of the Spokane Bulldogs. Today he beat up their pitching to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was the Ottawa Outlaws that salvaged a 8-7 victory at Parliament Field. "Ko was a tough out today," the Ottawa manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure. I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Speaking to the BNN writers, Ko added, "It was a real good day for me individually, but not a good one for the team. No loss is a good one." Jung-tae Ko singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Thus far this season Ko has hit .314 with 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 31 times.
