Baars Tops All, Wins FFL Silver Slugger Award Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 Not only has Baltwin Baars been named winner of the 2024 Ford Frick League Silver Slugger Award, he's done it at an age when many of his peers are still trying to establish themselves in DOUBLE A. "I feel fortunate to win this award at age 22," he said. "I feel like I still have my best years ahead of me. Hopefully I can put my name on this trophy a few more times." The San Antonio Storm Troopers ace had a 20-9 record over 35 starts and 227.2 innings. He struck out 167, issued 88 walks and had an impressive 3.32 ERA. Batters hit only .237 against him during the season. Abid Alamdar of the San Antonio Storm Troopers finished second in voting, while Harsha Majoo of the Sandy Springs Spartans finished third. |
