Super Swinger -- Cong Slams 7 Hits Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024 All game long Carson City's Hua Cong was rattling the walls at The Studio and banging out base hits against the Cincinnati Snaps and when the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a career day, a 7-hit day, but no victory. The Snaps defeated the Mustang 7-6 to take a little of the glitter of the occasion away. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 20-year-old shortstop said, "To get 7 hits and win a ballgame, that would have been a very special day. But we didn't win today. It's not easy to be happy when you lose. Only losers do that." In all, Cong collected 7 hits in 7 at-bats. Hua Cong doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, tripled in the 8th, doubled in the 10th, singled in the 12th and singled in the 14th. Hitting .284 to date, Cong has 7 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has played in 99 games. |
