Young on Fire, Named Player of the Week Monday, May 20th, 2024 26-year-old Jimmy Young made a few Madison headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Ford Frick League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 24 at-bats to put up a .542 average. Young collected 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 5 runs. This season in 41 games, Young has hit at a .362 clip with 58 hits, 4 home runs, 33 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
