Chikafuji Slaps 5 Hits Friday, May 3rd, 2024 Masahiro Chikafuji really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Bloomfield Road, the Cincinnati catcher blistered the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 14-0 victory. "Chikafuji was too tough to get out today," the Beetlecats skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Masahiro Chikafuji singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
