Berridge on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
Friday, July 28th, 2023
It was a quite a day for Shaun Berridge at The Kennel! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Spokane first baseman accomplished the rare feat during his team's 13-6 victory over the Boise Hawks.
He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."
Berridge went 4-5 in the game with 5 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.
Shaun Berridge singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Javier Vázquez in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a three-run triple in the 7th.
Berridge is hitting .250 this year with 17 home runs, 70 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 99 hits in 396 at-bats, 42 walks and a .321 on-base percentage. Berridge has played in 103 games.
