Super Swinger -- Chávez Slams 5 Hits Saturday, July 15th, 2023 On top of the Lake of the Isles hit parade today was Ramiro Chávez. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Wolves to a 9-2 victory over the Ottawa Outlaws. The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Outlaws wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Ramiro Chávez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Mun-cheol Ong in the 9th. Presently Chávez is batting .277 with 79 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 32 runs and scored 27 times. |
