Kanno Jacks 3 into the Stands
Wednesday, June 14th, 2023
Motoki Kanno of the Rams went on a hitting spree at Bloomfield Road today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 9-8 loss to the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats. Kanno got his name in the league record book, but failed to win the game.
The Frisco right fielder had quite a game as he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
His teammates were saddened by the loss, saying Kanno more than did his part, but they didn't do theirs.
After his three-home run game he said this to the press: "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me. I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
Motoki Kanno flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tony Morán in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Fernando Miranda in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off José Ruíz in the 9th.
In the 2023 season Kanno is hitting .303 with 10 home runs.
