Baltwin Baars Shelved by Injury Saturday, June 10th, 2023 Baltwin Baars at first refused to leave today's Phoenix-San Antonio game after he suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty San Antonio starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Baars out of action for 9 months. In 13 starts this year Baars has posted 4 wins while suffering 3 losses. He has pitched 63.2 innings, allowed 88 hits, struck out 34 and has a 5.37 ERA. |
