Kanno Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle
Saturday, April 15th, 2023
"To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Motoki Kanno grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Kanno went 5 for 7 with 6 RBI and 5 runs scored against Lake of the Isles, leading the Frisco Rams to a 23-3 win at The Den.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Kanno said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."
Motoki Kanno singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Daisuke Nakanishi in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
Hitting .379 to date, Kanno has 2 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 8 games.
