Outlaws Lose Esteban Alvarado Monday, April 10th, 2023 Esteban Alvarado at first refused to leave today's Newark-Ottawa game after he suffered a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Ottawa reliever said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Alvarado out of action for 12 months. This year Alvarado has earned no saves, worked 6 innings, fanned 3 hitters and recorded a 3.00 ERA. He has also put up a 0-0 won-lost mark. |
