Super Swinger -- Grove Slams 5 Hits Thursday, September 1st, 2022 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Alistair Grove. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Grove went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Ottawa pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at Parliament Field, he had a career 5-6 day and something he will long remember. And the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats had a 7-4 victory over the Outlaws. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Alistair Grove hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 10th. In his stats this season, Grove has posted a batting average of .298 with 142 hits in 477 at-bats, 21 home runs and 90 RBIs. He has also scored 96 runs, walked 113 times and compiled a .439 OBP. |
