5-6 Game for Griggs Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 Danny Griggs exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Confucius Field. The New York left fielder had a field day against the Jacksonville Hellcats, finishing with a 5-6 day and a spot in the record book. "It's a shame that we lost the game. It's really hard to enjoy what I did today," he said, lamenting the 16-11 loss. "You would think 5 hits would do it." Asked about his great day, he replied, "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple. I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch." Well, Griggs must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Danny Griggs singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Griggs has collected 44 hits for the Ninjas this year, 7 of them home runs. He has also netted 34 RBIs and scored 33 runs while batting .278. |
