Maxwell Slams 3 Homers for Tourists Sunday, July 24th, 2022 Woodrow Maxwell was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the Asheville 16-14 triumph over Ottawa, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands. Nobody who was at Parliament Field will forget this home run outburst anytime soon. The Asheville left fielder went 4-6, rung up 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. He told the press corps after his three home run binge, "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight. I can't wait until tomorrow's game. I really feel good at the plate." Woodrow Maxwell hit a solo-shot off Takashi Shirai in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, tripled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. Currently Maxwell has 22 home runs and a .336 batting average. |
