League Issues Román 4-Game Suspension
Saturday, April 16th, 2022
Santiago Román was suspended by the league for 4 games for "inappropriate conduct on the field," stemming from an altercation during a game with the Ottawa Outlaws yesterday at Parliament Field. The West Coast second baseman refused to leave the field for several minutes after being ejected by the home plate umpire over a third-strike call. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field, but had to step between him and the umpire several times.
Defenders officials told the press Román was not available for comment after the game.
This year Román has batted at a .250 pace with 1 hit, 1 home run, 1 RBIs and scored 1 times.
