Hit Parade: Sakai Pops 5 Hits Friday, April 8th, 2022 Yukinaga Sakai exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Baseque Block Field. The Cincinnati second baseman had a field day in the 14-5 triumph over the Boise Hawks, finishing with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Sakai must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Yukinaga Sakai hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. |
