Big Bat Pays Off, Steele Player of the Week Monday, August 9th, 2021 26-year-old Will Steele made a few Frisco headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Alexander Cartwright League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 26 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Steele collected 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 9 runs. Thus far this season Steele is hitting .275 with 15 home runs, 67 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He has 125 hits in 455 at-bats and has played in 113 games. |
