White Given 4-Game Suspension Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 Doug White, first baseman for the Newark Jail Birds, will be getting a few days off the hard way -- a 4-game suspension for aggressively arguing with an umpire in a recent game with Madison. After being called out on strikes, White stood toe-to-toe with the home plate umpire and hotly contested the call. Apparently he got too close to the arbiter and was ejected from the game, allegedly making contact with the bill of his cap. "I don't remember billing him. I don't remember doing that," White told BNN today. Currently White is batting .365 with 26 home runs and 89 RBIs. |
