Uchiyama Extends Hit Streak to 31 Games Monday, July 19th, 2021 The red-hot hitting Yasujiro Uchiyama is riding high with a 31-consecutive-game hitting streak and is drawing a lot of attention at the ballpark and in the press. The 26-year-old Riverside right fielder continued the streak today at Parliament Field with 2 hits in 5 at-bats as the Red Bulls got the best of the Ottawa Outlaws 6-4. "It's great," one of his teammates said. "To be able to hit behind him and watch him, it's been fun. It's been fun and exciting to watch. Not only fans in Riverside, but baseball fans everywhere appreciate what is going on right now, and it has everyone on the edge of their seats wondering what he is going to do." Yasujiro Uchiyama singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. This season Uchiyama is batting .376 with 85 RBIs, 79 runs scored and 22 home runs. |
