15 Ks for Hill, Beats Madison 3-0 Sunday, May 9th, 2021 It was a very special game for Rick Hill today at The Studio in Cincinnati. He had the perfect delivery. The good fastball. The nasty curve. The batters mumbling and muttering when they swung and missed. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. In an unforgettable performance the 20-year-old Hill fanned 15 strikeouts Beehive and sparked the Cincinnati Snaps to a 3-0 victory over Madison. His catcher commented, "I don't think I have seen him throw better. His location and command were really something." In addition to his 15 strikeouts, Johnson allowed 7 hits and no walks in a superlative outing. His manager added, "It's a manager's day off when you get pitching like that." The Madison skipper had no comment. Hill has started 6 times this year, pitched 34.1 innings, fanned 48 batters and walked 20. His current record is 1 win and 3 losses with a 4.19 ERA. |
