Israel Goes 5-for-5 Against Detroit Saturday, August 9th, 2025 Billings catcher Mendel Israel banged out 5 hits today, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Death Stars 5-4. He went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average a few points. Despite the loss, Israel was not dismayed: "If the hits keep coming," he said, "so will the runs -- and more importantly -- so will the wins." Mendel Israel singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this season Israel has hit .314 with 24 home runs, 69 RBIs and scored 68 times. |
