Great Stroke: Steele Gets 5 Hits Wednesday, July 9th, 2025 It seemed that Detroit first baseman Will Steele could do no wrong as the Death Stars kayoed the Canadians 7-0 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Vancouver pitchers couldn't get him out as Steele seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Death Stars were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Vancouver fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Steele in the postgame press interview. Will Steele singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Steele is batting .284 with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs. In 85 games he has scored 49 times. |
