5-Hit Blitz by Matthews Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Joseph Matthews of the Wichita Wranglers had a sensational game against Fairfield at Bulldog Stadium. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 6-3 shellacking of the Flash. In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did ,it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off. Right, skipper?" Joseph Matthews singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. In 13 games this season Matthews is batting .302 with 16 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 9 runs and driven in 6. |
