Cats Snap Mayfield's Streak at 22 Friday, April 11th, 2025 The hitting streak that El Paso first baseman Arnie Mayfield had going was ended today by the Fort Worth Cats. Mayfield, who had hits in his previous 22 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Diablos a 11-8 victory at Hell Stadium. He was hitless in 1 at-bat. "Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." |
