Bad News for Astoria, Senzo Nakashima Hurt Saturday, September 21st, 2024 It took the Astoria team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Senzo Nakashima won't simply play through a bone spur in his elbow after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Freeze-Argonauts game. At first, it looked like Nakashima might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 5 months. This year Nakashima has a 8-4 mark in 19 starts with a 5.48 ERA. He has given up 124 hits in 108.1 innings, struck out 86 and issued 27 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .289 batting average against him. |
