Cats Chill Luna's Hot Streak Saturday, August 24th, 2024 It was the best of both worlds for the Fort Worth Cats today at Ashton Gate as they defeated the Silver Lake Baristas 5-2 and also ended Julián Luna's 20-game hitting streak. The 26-year-old Silver Lake second baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Julián, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Cats skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Luna frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game." This season Luna is batting .286 with 92 hits, no home runs, 25 RBIs, .345 OBP and has scored 46 runs. |
