Swinney 5-for-6 Against Freedom Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Eric Swinney. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Swinney went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Philadelphia pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at The Bell, he had a career 5-for-6 day and something he will long remember. And the Bronx Bombers had a 17-10 victory over the Freedom. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Eric Swinney doubled in the 2nd, flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jacob Angle in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Rod Crowe in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year Swinney is batting .327 with 8 home runs, 30 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
