Hit Parade: Yamashita Gets Cycle
Sunday, July 14th, 2024
"To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Kenshin Yamashita grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Yamashita went 4 for 4 with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored against Chicago, leading the Antioch Coal Miners to a 10-5 win at The Coal Mine.

"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Yamashita said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."

Kenshin Yamashita hit a two-run home run off William Robillard in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and singled in the 7th.

So far this year, Yamashita is batting .299 with 15 home runs and 39 RBIs.
