Canadians Payne Suffers Injury Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 Darren Payne at first refused to leave today's Detroit-Vancouver game after he suffered a broken kneecap while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Vancouver center fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Payne out of action for 8-9 months. For the year Payne has hit at a .250 clip with 38 RBIs, 12 home runs and 34 runs scored. |
