Watson Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 Dave Watson exploded for a barrage of base hits today at House of Pain. The Reno first baseman had a field day against the Fort Worth Cats, finishing with a 5-for-5 day. "It's a shame that we lost the game. It's really hard to enjoy what I did today," he said, lamenting the 10-9 loss. "You would think 5 hits would do it." Asked about his great day, he replied, "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple. I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch." Well, Watson must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Dave Watson hit a two-run home run off Charles Wilson in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This year Watson is hitting at a .287 pace with 14 home runs and 32 RBIs. He has played in 35 games and scored 31 times. |
