Wells Caps Great Week Monday, May 13th, 2024 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Billings Mustangs first baseman Matt Wells took the Blake Camden League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Wells said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 28-year-old first baseman hit .423 (11-for-26) last week with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 6 runs scored. Presently Wells is batting .264 and has collected 6 home runs, 27 RBIs, .306 OBP and scored 20 runs. |
