Free-for-All Costs Herrera and Romero 4-Game Suspensions
Wednesday, May 8th, 2024
At a recent Freeze-Banditos contest at The Ice Box, Félix Herrera of Minneapolis took exception to what Manuel Romero of Acapulco said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players.
Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 4 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct."
During the current season Herrera is batting at a .337 clip with no home runs and 18 RBIs. He has played in 30 games and scored 17 times.
Currently Romero has 8 relief appearances, saving 0. His record is 1-1 with 29 strikeouts in 17.1 innings and a 6.23 ERA.
