Sakai's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Sunday, October 2nd, 2022 The Freeze proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Bumblebees 7-0, but Yukinaga Sakai continued his god-like hitting as he collected 1 hit and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting second baseman, the Minneapolis skipper said, "Sakai is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Sakai was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Yukinaga Sakai singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. Currently Sakai is hitting .343 and has collected 2 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 34 times, while playing in 75 games. |
