In the Bumblebees 10-8 win over Astoria, Ronnie Johnson was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at The Hole. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for a 5-hit game. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." On his big day Johnson delivered 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Ronnie Johnson singled in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off George Bedford in the 6th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 10th. For the season Johnson has produced 127 hits in 453 at-bats for a .280 average with 16 home runs and gotten on base at a .383 clip. |
