Cats Stop Hughes at 24 Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 The Detroit Death Stars won the game 7-5 over the Fort Worth Cats. At the same time the Cats mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 24-game hitting streak of Death Stars left fielder Tom Hughes. But that was still not enough to win the game. "Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Hughes," the Fort Worth manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Death Stars have other hitters, and they did their job today." On the year Hughes has hit .364 with 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 17 runs. |
