Yates Gets 5 Hits Monday, May 2nd, 2022 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Bobby Yates. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Yates went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Pasadena pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at The Hole, he had a career 5-6 day and something he will long remember. And the Joplin Fireballs had a 11-7 victory over the Bumblebees. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Bobby Yates doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jon Morris in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 9th, singled in the 11th and struck out in the 12th. In the 2022 season Yates is hitting .393 with 7 home runs. |
