Hurskainen Belts 5 Hits Monday, May 2nd, 2022 Markko Hurskainen told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Hurskainen of the Billings Mustangs did against the Detroit Death Stars. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Death Stars, who suffered a 7-2 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Markko Hurskainen singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Justin Holloway in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season Hurskainen is swinging the bat at a .412 pace. He has hit 5 home runs and scored 19 times, while driving in 26. His on-base percentage is .517 and he has played in 26 games. |
