Orozco, Thornton Receive 12-Game Suspensions Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 At a recent Aeropostales-Phantoms contest at Stars Field, Sergio Orozco of Indian Wells took exception to what Jared Thornton of Coronado said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 12 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." Orozco is hitting .281 in 2021 with 73 RBIs and 18 home runs. |
