Ware Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Friday, July 23rd, 2021
"Some days everything falls in place and you have an almost perfect day." Those were the comments from Winston third baseman Ted Ware today as his 4-5 day included the cycle, a baseball rarity.
"He sure was a wrecking ball today," said one teammate after the Unionists tamed the Sabercats 11-2 at Bulldog Stadium.
Ted Ware hit a solo-shot off Masuhiro Kondo in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run double in the 8th.
In 85 games this season Ware has compiled a .261 batting average with 76 hits and 10 home runs. He has also scored 44 times and knocked in 46 runs.
