NO-NO! Johnston Perfect Against Silver Lake
Sunday, July 4th, 2021
Over the course of baseball history, some moments stand a little taller than others. One of those moments happened today at LaGrave Field. Steve Johnston of the Fort Worth Cats beat the Baristas 6-0 and threw a perfect game. He dominated Silver Lake in a way rarely seen. By the end of the game, he had rung up 10 Silver Lake hitters on strikeouts, showed superb control in not allowing a single walk and did not even allow a base hit. There were no errors, either. No one got on base.

The fans gave Steve Johnston a well-deserved standing ovation as he left the mound. They knew they had witnessed one of the rariest events in baseball.

Johnston told reporters in the postgame press conference that he never dreamed of throwing a perfect game. "As a kid, you always think of pitching to win the final game of a championship," Johnston said. "You never think of pitching a perfect game, because it just seems unattainable. I'll remember this day for the rest of my life."

This year Johnston has registered 10 wins and 6 losses in 15 starts with a 3.99 ERA while registering 95 strikeouts and 45 walks in 112.2 innings.
