Winters Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Tuesday, August 5th, 2025
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Matt Winters of the Kansas City Tornadoes. Winters went on a tear at Debris Field and cracked hit after hit off San Francisco pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 30-year-old left fielder had a career 5-for-5 day and something he will long remember. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell 'em we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview. Winters got the accolades today, but the San Francisco Earthquakes walked off the field with a 9-8 win. Matt Winters singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
Winters has a .370 average and a .427 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 160 hits, 10 home runs and driven in 88 runs.
