Red-Hot Winters Scorches Armada Thursday, July 24th, 2025 The Tornadoes whipped the Armada 11-2 at Lucky 7 Ballpark and Matt Winters had a big hand in the win. The Tornadoes left fielder came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Winters and a tough day for Quebec. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Winters delivered today -- 5-for-5 is outstanding in any league. Matt Winters singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off José Serrano in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Darma Djojohadiksumo in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Winters is currently batting .365 with 10 home runs and 86 RBIs. |
