Moreno 5-for-5 for Eureka Sunday, July 13th, 2025 It was a hits blitz for Jorge Moreno at Bomber Ballpark. The Eureka Hornets right fielder tore into South Carolina for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Hornets to a 7-6 victory and to put up a career day. The manager for the Bombers bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Moreno, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." Jorge Moreno singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Aidan Carrick in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off José Parra in the 11th. This season Moreno is batting at a .299 clip with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs. |
