Iwamoto Suspended by League
Friday, July 11th, 2025
Eureka Hornets center fielder Seiichi Iwamoto was suspended 3 games by the league commissioner today, a day after arguing his ejection during a game against the South Carolina Bombers.
"I think the 3 games are a little harsh," Iwamoto said.
He was ejected by plate umpire for arguing balls and strikes.
After his ejection, Iwamoto went into the dugout, then came back on the field, argued with the umpire and had to be restrained by coaches and teammates. The suspension was issued for "unbecoming conduct and returning to the field of play after being dismissed."
Iwamoto is hitting at a .283 mark this season. His stats show 3 home runs, 30 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has played 82 games for the Hornets.
