Bad Behavior Costs Mata and Lowe
Saturday, June 21st, 2025
The fans at Field de Los Layendas saw it all yesterday in the Toreros-Bandits game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Cabo San Lucas's Salvador Mata and Montreal's Bruce Lowe were ejected from the game.
Today the two players were suspended 3 games by the league commissioner.
A look at his season totals shows Mata with 5 home runs, .177 BA, .309 OBP, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
In 12 starts this season Lowe has recorded a 4-4 record and a 4.77 ERA.
