Gamblers Halt Canó's Hit Streak
Thursday, May 29th, 2025
It was the best of both worlds for the Las Vegas Gamblers today at The Frozen Tundra as they defeated the Minnesota Berserkers 10-3 and also ended Ángel Canó's 20-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old Minnesota first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Ángel, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Gamblers skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Canó frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."
So far in 2025 Canó is batting .360 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 31 hits in 86 at-bats and a .402 OBP.
