The Republic manager told BNN, "Not to belittle his streak, but at the end of the day, the important thing is winning the game, not stopping a hitting streak." Well, the Republic didn't stop Bill Nelson today, but they won the game 3-0 over the Black Knights. The Brooklyn left fielder was 3-for-4 in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 32 games. Bill Nelson doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. To date Nelson has chalked up a .417 average with 5 home runs, driven in 17 runs and scored 32 times. |
