League Issues 9-Game Suspensions for Brawl Saturday, May 17th, 2025 Sometimes on the baseball diamond disparaging words are uttered in anger and lead to more than what the players bargained for. That's what happened at yesterday's Manhattan Beach Patriots-San Diego Hops game at Stars & Stripes Stadium. What started off as a war of words ended up a tag team match as both clubs rushed on the field to defend their honor. When the umpires sorted it all out, they ejected Manhattan Beach's Carl Harris and San Diego's Mal Tosewell from the game for their roles in starting the melee. Today the players were notified by the league office that they had been suspended 9 games for violating league rules. Currently Harris is hitting .301 and has collected 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 19 times, while playing in 28 games. Tosewell has a 4-2 season record so far. In 8 starts, he has fanned 33 batters in 50.2 innings with a 3.91 ERA. |
