5 Hits for Tornadoes Winters Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 Matt Winters exploded for a barrage of base hits today at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard . The Kansas City left fielder had a field day against the Las Vegas Gamblers, finishing with a 5-for-5 day. "It's a shame that we lost the game. It's really hard to enjoy what I did today," he said, lamenting the 3-2 loss. "You would think 5 hits would do it." Asked about his great day, he replied, "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple. I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch." Well, Winters must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Matt Winters singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Winters is batting .410 this season in 24 games with 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 41 hits in 100 at-bats. |
