Republic KO Hornets Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 It's party time in So Cal, confetti is flying and the city's residents are smiling. The So Cal Republic have reached the peak in capturing the 2024 ABL World Series. They defeated the Eureka Hornets 9-0 at House of the Republic to officially wrap up the series 4-3. Asked how it feels to be champion, center fielder José Contreras was to the point. "It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions." The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. So Cal finished the regular season 108-54 and claimed first place in the Roberto Clemente League Bobby Cox Division. |
